We had dinner with some dear friends this past week who shared with us a bottle of exceptionally good red wine. I love that this Malbec represents Autumn in Argentina; and though it's not currently Autumn there, it couldn't be MORE so here in Middle Tennessee. Chilly nights, golden blue days, leaves just beginning to show what we wouldn't think would be glorious colors...it's so lovely, and so welcome after this grueling summer.
Anyhow, this was an unbelievably great wine at a price not to be believed, only $12 or $13 bucks. The trick is FINDING it. I can't. If you run across it, grab a few bottles, and let me know where you nabbed the Gouguenheim Malbec 2005, from Argentina. Or better yet, bring it over— and I'll cook you some dinner! Here's the Wine Press's review ; Jimmy is a great resource for wine, and you'll find their magazine for free in shops all over Davidson and Williamson counties. He's got a great sense of humor as well, and is one of the funnest [is that a word?] people on the planet. Thanks to him I'm not drinking Boone's Farm out of a plastic cup.

By the way, I heard from Jimmy, who said the wine is available at The Wine Shoppe in Green Hills. Yay!
PS. Just found out today that they sold out of the 2005 a month or so ago. Sad... updates, anyone?
