2.2 miles of hell

2.2 miles. That's all I have to drive when I commute to work. Yet on my way home today, I managed to have nearly 5 deathly encounters... 3 crazy driving speed demons, reckless bikers with no helmets nor reflective clothing completely disregarding silly things like stop signs, and joggers dressed ALL in black cutting in front of me by inches as I was turning right on red as I have every right to do. Ye cats, I bout had heart palpitations just pulling into the garage...

And I wanted to try cycling to work this spring. I bet I manage to weasel out of that resolution.

It was all about getting ahead of people, even at risk to one's own safety. And I'm guilty of it especially when preoccupied and rushing around. I'm challenged daily by this site, and this article is speaking to me today.

We'll see how I do tomorrow, running 10 minutes late to work.
