It's blazing hot today and only early June. What will this summer be like, I wonder? Last year's heat wave and drought brought us to our knees and pocketbooks to pay for AC and high water bills, replacing dead trees, and loads of parched landscaping. Today is muggy and humid, blazing sun, and breezy, but it doesn't matter much because I've got so much to do inside. The laundry's piled up, dust bunnies rampaging, clean and dirty dishes rubbing shoulders everywhere, basement to be cleaned out, etc. etc. ad infinitum. And there are curtains to be made, if I could only find time to unpack my new sewing machine that I don't even know how to use yet. I think what I'd really do if I could... make a giant pitcher of lemonade, get that stack of books weeded through, and lay out by a pool. This is so not me, and I wonder why I want it.
