Family Tree

A few months ago I was asked about creating a family tree for some friends, and since I've always wanted to do one, I leapt at the chance. I chose to combine some of my favorite ways to work, collage and paint, and created the tree above. The background is a soft blue Canson, with tobacco and dark green inked branches and leaves. The name leaves were cut from a soft olive Canson paper and mounted on top of the background.

My friends were able to give this to their parents for a special anniversary gift, which I was happy to hear was very well received.
