Great word for today.

I'm so encouraged by reading here. What wonderful hope!

And just a few more from an old book study from years ago, which I did not give
the attention which it deserved at the time.

27 Why do you complain, Jacob?
   Why do you say, Israel,
“My way is hidden from the LORD;
my cause is disregarded by my God”?
—Isaiah 40:27

God has not abandoned us any more than He abandoned Job. He never abandons anyone on whom He has set His love; nor does Christ, the good shepherd, ever lose track of His sheep. It is as false as it is irreverent to accuse God of forgetting, or overlooking, or losing interest in, the state and needs of His own people. If you have been resigning yourself to the thought that God has left you high and dry, seek the grace to be ashamed of  yourself. Such unbelieving pessimism deeply dishonors our great Lord and Savior.

Oh the forgiveness I need for even thinking such thoughts, much less asking Him
to not abandon us in our trials!

God's life does not change.
God's character does not change.
God's truth does not change.
God's ways do not change.
God's purposes do not change.
God's Son does not change.

What God does in time, He planned from eternity. And all that He planned in eternity He carries out in time. And all that He has in His Word committed Himself to do will infallibly be done. No part of His eternal plan changes.

The plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations.
—Psalm 33:11
