it's not too early to start thinking about it.

Awake, thou wintry earth—
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!
— Thomas Blackburn, An Easter Hymn

April’s rare capricious loveliness.
— Julia Dorr

Keep your faith in all beautiful things;
in the sun when it is hidden,
in the Spring when it is gone.
— Roy R. Gilson

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth’s dark breast
Rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
—  Percy Bysshe Shelley, The Sensitive Plant

Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices
instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable
shrieking into the heart of the night.
— Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters of Rainer Maria Rilke

The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another.
The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.
— Henry Van Dyke, Fisherman’s Luck, 1899

Which is your favorite? Which would look good as a piece of handlettering?

I would like to see the Van Dyke quote with a calendar in the background maybe? A mysterious, "is it spring or not" looking calendar.

The Blackburn quote would be great mainly because I would like to see how you hand-letter the word, "vernal."

Capricious would also be lovely!
