How about spilling one's dignity? Putting one's foot in it? Hitting that blasted "Send" button when one should have LOOKED TO MAKE SURE THE RECIPIENT WAS NOT THE CLIENT ONE WAS TALKING ABOUT??
sigh. I guess it could've been worse, that I had actually said something bad. Still, massive uncomfortableness.
Stop retrograding, whatever you are!

Several years ago, my old business partner and I were dealing with a client who was being difficult. He didn't understand a technical limitation that was beyond our control, and demanded that we work over the weekend to make it happen anyways. I was completely fed up and responded in a sinful way. Instead of forwarding my response only to my partner, I instead replied to the client, stating that he was "a moron." Needless to say, that was a rather embarrassing event. I apologized for my childish response and he forgave me. Years later, and he is still a client and even gave me a hug last week, so I guess he is over it :-)
OH MY... I so totally felt that horrid drop in the pit of my stomach when my co-worker said, uh, you know you sent that to the CLIENT... thanks for the sympathy. I bet that hug felt great!
May I suggest PEE (Paranoid E-mail Examination) before hitting send? Kind of like a PPC (Paranoid Phone Check) to make sure the phone is hung up before you start making fun of the person on the other end (not that I do that!).
I found out that Mercury is retrograding. A good excuse for my bad behaviour!
