Quiet.

My neighborhood is very, very, very quiet today: no cars driving by, no motorcycles, and no gas-powered lawnmowers. What an interesting phenomenon. And unfortunate, except that it does make one think. We made the national news, and it doesn't really show us as very stable. We saw lines 30+ cars deep to get into a Pilot off of I24, going up into the Interstate exit and onto the freeway. When fistfights start breaking out in the "swank" parts of town, it's time to assess priorities. Crazy.

maybe i should stay in New Orleans . . . the ninth ward has been buzzing and gas is $3.65!
