An email from an old friend of mine reminded me of one of my favorite artists...the email included an offer of a few of his signed prints in one of her purging house events, which I, though spatially challenged to the extreme, could not resist offering to take off her hands. She is the reason for my affection for this man, as one of my first jobs in college was working in her shop where these prints hung. Along with influencing me and my family in many culinary ways, she gave me a new love for this artist.
Below and above are some examples of the many many posters he has designed for a famous little California restaurant named Chez Panisse. He's very prolific, and worth checking out for hours of visual fun and enjoyment. An amazing letterer, draftsman, colorist, renderer, concepter... the man can do it all.
