Today I found myself rambling about a big bookstore in our local swishy mall. Always on the lookout for interesting covers, I came across a few that interested me for either their use of photography, type, or illustration. I'll have to post someday about the recent trends I've been spotting around, including the above pictured silhouettes. Anytime I come across pen and ink illustration, I get excited; and mixed media illustration is very hot right now in the publishing world, which is thrilling. If I were a good blogger I'd look up the illustrators and provide links and all that info. But I'm not, and if you really care you will be able to find it yourself.
I need to get outside; it's perfectly lovely here!!

The pen and ink is amazing. I love the concept as well. Sigh. Wish I was doing work like this.
