I do what I must
Work excruciatingly slow? Well, podcast up...and practice doing stuff you love. Then watch yourself amalgamate the two. My practice sheets during the BHP's gory stuff are hilarious...
Found this year:
The British History Podcast, or BHP
The History of English Podcast, or HEP
Radiolab
What are you listening to?

Stabilo Medium Point
Today I got a little pen sample from the lovely folks at Jet Pens. They feed my addiction (even when it's only virtual) for all things finely pointed, fountain-inked, or whatever they like to send my way.
I liked this pen even though it's much thicker than I would normally choose. And, I don't use Stabilo often, and wonder what I'm missing in their fine point department.
See my notes in the photos for more thoughts. And go visit Jet Pens, I couldn't recommend them more.

Wendy MacNoughton, illustrator
Wendy MacNoughton's people. Diversely done and all lovely.

Wendy MacNoughton's food, wine, drinks.
Random wonderful ephemera.
And her maps and places.
What talent! She's all over the web once you see her stuff. Really great detailed yet loose watercolor style and lettering skills. Found at her site, blog, and lots elsewhere.

Lovely, in Russian!
I have no idea what this little film is about but it is entrancing...especially the calligraphy by the wonderful artist Marina Marjina. More of her amazing work is on her Flickr.
