old photo part 2
More photoshop playing with an old favorite picture of Kerri and myself. Taken during a tough time, but we got through it and am very happy for this picture to remind me of it.

old photo in my mind.
Played around with an old photo of my sweet little niece and myself. Now it looks more of how I remember that day instead of super sharp and bright. Memory filter! We were fishing in a West Texas stock tank on a hot day. Her big sis pulled in a giant catfish on a Barbie pole. As usual, I got nothing. Except some time with my adorable nieces and their dad...

hula lady
I love the bright colors and bright words of photographer and creative Hula Seventy. I've stalked her blog a long time now and have that weird sense of "if I knew you, I would LOVE you!" sort of internet thing. Which undoubtedly creeps people out and rightly so. But she's been really honest and great throughout her whole time of blogging, and painfully so in regards to losing her mom.
I've been sad and grumpy around mother's day this year with all the advertising of "just what Mom needs" being mostly crap jewelry and clothes. With my own mom in a care facility for dementia patients, what I feel "mom needs" has drastically changed. And I have no idea if there's anyone on earth who can give it.
So thanks, Hula Seventy, for giving me some brightness and for going through all this just one step ahead. I'll keep checking in randomly, knowing you will be finding the good in all of it just when you're meant to. God bless, sweet lady.

Supermoon!
According to Wikipedia, a supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon
with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical
orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the moon's disk as
seen from Earth. The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system.
According to me, it's just amazingly beautiful! And it happened this year last Saturday, except here in Music City it rained.

Ancient desert, the Namib
I found this the most fascinating story, for some reason. The photos are incredible: the Namib, a diamond-mining boom town in the 20s, ghost horses. It's amazing how the horses went feral, and adapted to such harsh conditions...deserts and their creatures amaze me. Must've gotten that from my dad.
