I don't usually care a whit about sports, but this article has got me choked up!
Well done!

Saw it.

I saw two redneck women duking it out at a BP gas station in Whites Creek. Cool.

2.2 miles of hell

2.2 miles. That's all I have to drive when I commute to work. Yet on my way home today, I managed to have nearly 5 deathly encounters... 3 crazy driving speed demons, reckless bikers with no helmets nor reflective clothing completely disregarding silly things like stop signs, and joggers dressed ALL in black cutting in front of me by inches as I was turning right on red as I have every right to do. Ye cats, I bout had heart palpitations just pulling into the garage...

And I wanted to try cycling to work this spring. I bet I manage to weasel out of that resolution.

It was all about getting ahead of people, even at risk to one's own safety. And I'm guilty of it especially when preoccupied and rushing around. I'm challenged daily by this site, and this article is speaking to me today.

We'll see how I do tomorrow, running 10 minutes late to work.

Surely this is Onion news...

Santas warned 'ho ho ho' offensive to women

Wed Nov 14, 11:04 PM ET

SYDNEY (AFP) - Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.

Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.

One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute.

"Gimme a break," said Julie Gale, who runs the campaign against sexualising children called Kids Free 2B Kids.

"We are talking about little kids who do not understand that "ho, ho, ho" has any other connotation and nor should they," she told the Telegraph.

"Leave Santa alone."

A local spokesman for the US-based Westaff recruitment firm said it was "misleading" to say the company had banned Santa's traditional greeting and it was being left up to the discretion of the individual Santa himself.

Perspective.

Hey, it could be worse. And worser.
Wow. What parents have to do. Why do I ever complain??

Disregard previous post.

Disgruntled.

Worked like crazy til 7 pm tonight only to find out an hour ago that I missed an integral piece of the job and have to redo it first thing tomorrow. So, it was all for nowt. The self-confidence that radiated from me at 7, faded into loathing and moody grumping by 10. Why can't I disassociate from work? Why do I feel a total failure when making simple mistakes? Why is it so hot? Will I ever find that bag I lost last year? Where is that secret knot? Who bumped my truck intentionally in the parking lot that day? Is my neighbor certifiably insane? Can anyone give me a good reason why I cannot tan? Did the dude who shot the last quagga feel bad about it? Can we save our "planet in peril"?
All these things I would love to know.

I love humanity...

...it's people I can't stand.

Flyer on our mailbox last week read, in part:

Attention neighbors!
We're getting married in our backyard this week...we have a permit from Metro to block off [the alley and part of the street]. We apologize for any inconvenience...we would really appreciate your keeping any dogs inside. You might be able to enjoy our live music. Please minimize any noise like dogs barking or fire crackers [during the early part of the ceremony]. Happy Fourth of July!

Note: these neighbors have two incredibly yappy, unruly dogs. They must've been exempt by being part of the ceremony.
